I have had the privilege of being married for 37 years to a wonderful man who has taught me the joy of humor and laughter. It's contagious, it soothes the soul, it makes difficult times bearable, it is a gift I treasure. May we never lose the ability to laugh.

I'm making lemon cookies
So, ok...the Lord is allowing me to enjoy the wonderful, tart lemon and with it, I have decided to make iced lemon cookies since they are one of my favorites. Cancer is never an easy thing to deal with but the Lord is truly good to surround me with my wonderful husband and family who believe as I do, that the Lord is in control and wants only the best for each one of us. And I am blessed that this group of people that surround me recognize the wonderful benefits of humor and laughter because it is good for the spirit and gets us through the most difficult times. So please, feel free to join me for some wonderful lemon cookies as we laugh and love our way through this. And thank you, Lord, that you are our strength and shield, that you promise never to leave us or forsake us, and that we are able to bring all of our requests boldly before the throne of Grace. What comfort there is in that!

You had better be bringing some of those lemon cookies down here when you come. Unless "baking lemon cookies" is code for "I'm not only making lemonade from the lemons life has given me but ALSO lemon cookies"??? If that's the case, please stop by and purchase some lemon cookies before you get here, I have a hankerin' for them now ;)
Cindy's Mom.... I know that it's not a cliche that the Lord uses our "lemony times" to teach others some things because, your positive attitude has certainly taught me a lesson. I will keep you in my prayers. Oh and I have never had lemon cookies so send me some with the "day saver"! :) Judy
I love you and am praying! Chrystal
Where are you hiding these cookies? I've looked everywhere. There are cookies, right? Symbolism, while an interesting ploy in literature, doesn't offer the sweet taste during coffee. Don't play me, woman. I need a cookie!
I also like the sound of those cookies. Tell me when you are getting back here, and send me a recipe (Mennonite Cookbook?), and I'll make you some!!! Truly!!!
I know God takes the most horrible things and makes something beautiful of them, and I know He never makes a mistake, but if I could have my finite choice, I would never, ever, choose this for you!!!! You are a blessing to us! B & C
Me, please tell RhetorMan that I have tried to post a comment on his very interesting blogs, but being "not a blogger" and there being no anonymous possibility; I can't! C
Ok, lemon cookies for everyone! I'm telling you, lemon cookies are the best! It will definitely be in the plans to make some for everyone! :) And if any one else wants to make some, we will all get together and share recipes. I love that idea!
Tell "Anonymous" that the best way to blog is to create a blog, which will allow others to read and respond. I'll make an accommodation for a good response. But, in the future, it would be much more interesting if Anonymous offered up some original material.
Mrs. Harle...
If these cookies are as good as that dinner you and husband made I am SO there!
I am praying for you and your family. You truly are an amazing woman that radiates God's character to others. I'm sure that he's proud of you!
Anonymous is really a pretty dull person, as you can clearly see by reading her responses, but at least her heart is in the right place, and at least she can now respond, however dully ( is that a correct word?????)to all of your interesting, funny ones. Thanks for the accomodation, RhetorMan. It doesn't show, but I have responded to two of your so far.
As far as the lemon cookies go, I'm on, and will do my best to find a fabulous recipe and make them perfectly!!! Sounds great! C
It's Thursday, lady. I'm still waiting for some cookies!
