Have you ever had that piece of furniture that is just the mac daddy of all pieces of furniture. Well, that is exactly what the blue chair in our house is all about. About, oh say, 15 years ago I spied the chair in the picture (except it was a beautiful shade of blue) in a store...sat in it...and was sold immediately. It is one of those chairs that you just sink down in. It hits my head and neck just perfect. The foot rest cushions my feet and it surrounds me with cool leather goodness that just takes me away. Forget Calgone...all I need is "the blue chair." When you recline with your feet up, you can stretch out completely and drift off to slumberland in two ticks of the clock. I am thankful for this blue chair. It has been used over the years to cradle my family members during all sorts of times...the kids slept in it when sick and needing that extra special loving touch, it has been slept in when someone was recuperating from surgery, or just needing that wonderful, restful afternoon nap. It reminds me of the dad's chair in the sitcom "Frazier" and I concur completely with him when he said, "don't mess with my chair." Thanks Lane for the blue chair.
I have had the privilege of being married for 37 years to a wonderful man who has taught me the joy of humor and laughter. It's contagious, it soothes the soul, it makes difficult times bearable, it is a gift I treasure. May we never lose the ability to laugh.

"The blue chair" by Lane

"That chair will never last" were my original comments that fateful day in the furniture store. I still stand by my initial proclamation!
Oh.. the blue chair... what a fitting tribute to its wonderful Harle Home existence. I stand with mom, "don't mess with the chair!"
I too have enjoyed the pleasure of that chair. To this day it is a chair that I measure all my future "retirement" chair by. Yes I have purchased functional work chairs, but a retirement chair is different. A retirement chair is one that you sit in an know it may be days before you get up to use the restroom. Good for you I don't visit you and your chair too often.

I didn't know that chair was called a retirement chair, but I do know the feeling that you can have a chair so comfortable that you wait forever before getting up and going to the bathroom. Now that is what I call a cozy chair.
The chair is most comfortable, have spent many hours relaxing in it.
All's it needs to join the ranks of the chair from frasier is some duct tape placed in strategic spots and of course a dog named eddie.
Know one would think of messing with such a chair. It feel's like "butter".
Love,
Sooz
Having made the declaration that we will never buy another Lane anything, because our Lane recliner did NOT last, I am not qualified to make a comment. However, I do say that there never was a more deserving girl than you, Me, to have a lovely chair in which to relax. Enjoy it, my dear! c
I have to eat my words. Yesterday at the farmer's market we bought a Lane cedar chest and brought it into our house. It wasn't for us, but it will be living here for the time being, so..... c
