A question

We had dinner tonight with some friends and at one point the conversation turned to John 10:10, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."  So the question was brought up, "What defines the abundant life?"  After tossing this around a bit, we discussed the very next verse which starts, "I am the good shepherd..."  which of course takes us back to Psalm 23:1, "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want." When our friend put this question to one of our coaches, the coach came up with the best one word answer...the abundant life is freedom.  Freedom from...whatever it is that makes you want.  Freedom from...whatever baggage we carry around that we refuse to get rid of.  The Lord is our shepherd, we shall not want.  What a delightful thought!
