I have had the privilege of being married for 37 years to a wonderful man who has taught me the joy of humor and laughter. It's contagious, it soothes the soul, it makes difficult times bearable, it is a gift I treasure. May we never lose the ability to laugh.

Old Friends
Some of the best laughter that I have experienced recently is with old friends - the friends that we made in our 20's and 30's. We were all brought together again recently after being apart for 10 years or so. And while we all look a little older and are, hopefully, a lot wiser, the laughter was instantaneous as we recalled stories and remembrances from those days so many years ago. We did not have to worry about polite conversation, or work hard to learn the nuances of new friends. There was no hesitation when talking as we brought each other up to date on kids and events that had happened in the recent years. There was an instant comfortableness that only comes when the people you are with share your memories and can recall your stories. And as we talked and laughed, it was if no time at all had passed. True friendship is a gift from God and this weekend, God gave me a wonderful gift- spending time with old friends, laughing, talking, reminiscing, treasuring the relationship that was begun so long ago, and which continues today even if miles happen to separate us or time intervenes. Thank you, Lord!

So True. The friends of your youth last forever. I'm so glad I can laugh with you every day! How cool is that?
