Let the celebration begin!

Tomorrow we get to start celebrating a birthday and if I do things right, the celebration will move right on into Sunday- the actual day for celebrating.  Tomorrow I am planning on putting some chicken and steak on the grill, with some portabella mushrooms, onions, and peppers...add some yellow rice with olives and green peas and you have the start of a celebration.  Sunday morning I get to continue a long-time family tradition of preparing breakfast in bed for the birthday person and then dinner out to properly finish the day.  It is always fun to have an excuse for celebrating and 52 years of living is a perfect excuse.  Happy birthday, Bill!

49 is a great age. I think it is wonderful to be 49 and to enjoy the last moments of one's '40s. Too bad that was some time ago, when I was still trying to find my place in this world. Now that I'm going to be 52 I have a clear idea where I've been and where I'm going--sounds very feminist now that I think of it. Looking forward to some good cooking.
