My tulips and daffodils are blooming. The pear trees are white with flowers and the trees are a beautiful shade of green from the new leaves that are popping out. The yard was mowed this past week and it is slowly evolving back to green from its earlier shades of brown and tan. Lady bugs are everywhere. Looking around, I see patches of freshly turned earth and I am sure that I saw a carpet of green laying on top of one of the newly turned gardens. I watched a neighbor standing at the edge of his garden, hands on hips, surveying his neat rows of future crops. I envied him. There is something wonderful about seeing the first fresh leaves of beans and tomatoes coming up. It calms the soul. Tomorrow morning it is supposed to be 35 degrees. Almost but not quite freezing. I guess the weather doesn't want to cooperate. In spite of that, I am enjoying the first fruits of spring. I am so ready for it.
I have had the privilege of being married for 37 years to a wonderful man who has taught me the joy of humor and laughter. It's contagious, it soothes the soul, it makes difficult times bearable, it is a gift I treasure. May we never lose the ability to laugh.

you and me both. We have cabbage , peas and onions in the garden already. ASAP we hope to add potatoes, carrots and beets. It will be nice to see them start to poop, that is if our deer and rabbits don't get them first. Silver queen corn is definitely on our list as well. Mom
Got a good laugh. After reading my blog, I meant pop, not poop. Didn't know how to correct it, so you can laugh with me. Mom
Thanks Mom, I did get a good laugh. I will show you how to correct such things for the future. Oh, and Bill says, that if your garden is going to poop, he's not going to be eating anything that comes out of it any time soon. He says he will bring the Jolly Green. You are the best. Love you!
awww it calms the soul, I liked that :) You're the best Mom ever, and I love hearing your thoughts on Spring!
