I have had the privilege of being married for 37 years to a wonderful man who has taught me the joy of humor and laughter. It's contagious, it soothes the soul, it makes difficult times bearable, it is a gift I treasure. May we never lose the ability to laugh.

Haircuts!!!
Have you ever wanted to surrender your hair to someone and give them carte blanche with a scissors just to see how it will look cut in some strange new way? Well, I did just that and have found a new talent that has been added to my husband's list of many talents. I'm seeing a cottage industry blossoming! I had finally gotten to the place where my hair was driving me insane it had gotten so long. Being the thrifty person I am, I didn't see the point in paying for a haircut when in a few short weeks, I'm not going to have to worry about said hair. So, I convinced my husband to take a whack at it. I mean, what's the worst that could happen? He cut it too short? He made it too choppy? He spiked it? Really, what difference would it make? So, I convinced him to try his hand at it. We took it outside and the hair started flying. Now, I must confess, I had a moment when I thought..."Oh my goodness, what am I doing?" (I mean I have watched him trim the jasmine before so I had a reason to be a little concerned) But that was soon replaced with..."relax, how ever it turns out will be fine...besides, I might just discover a really bold new look." :) Well, can I just say, that he did an amazing job? I have no idea why I have been paying for hair cuts all of these years. If only I had known the cosmotological talent that exists in my husband! I'd be a rich woman.

I'm considering cosmetology school next summer. The smell of hair spray mixed with ammonia-infused hair dye is an olfactory stimulate I can't resist.
Yes, we have tried to become more thrifty ourselves, and I gave Gwyndaf his most recent hair cut. Looks pretty good, but I did miss one little hair by his ear that we discovered a few days later... oops. I haven't gotten up the courage to let him try his hand at mine yet, though..... I don't think I want him taking the buzzer to my head!
I have seen Rhetorman in action years ago with some cousins of mine in Ft. Myers. Personally having reviewed that experience again letting him near your hair with the intent to cut, trim, tweek, etc rates as one of the bravest thing I can think of.
Of course the fact that my cousins were small and we could out run them may ahve someting to do with the outcome of their hair cut.
As further thought go into this I also reacll that the cut, or scalping we gave them would be right in style now, so maybe we were a head of our times.....

Is there a picture to go with this amazing haircut?? I want to see it!!!! I'm proud of both of you, and feel sure that Rhetorman, if he so desired, would be a smashing success in cosmetology school, and I would dearly love to hear him recounting all the stories he would be privy to! Can't you just hear it all? C Maybe they are wrong, and you will be one of those rare people who do not lose their hair, Me. I know one, and she never lost it.
Boy, were you brave!!!! I can just feel the first aprehension cut that was made. How short was the cut and what style did you tell him to give you? I'm anxious to see you. Somehow, it might take something like this to develop a new career for rhetorman. This might be the first of many. SMG
Brave, Brave, Brave!!! is the word.
Letting Bill loose with scissor's, everything on me tense's up.
And the fact that you had to talk him into it shows your trust and confidence in your soul mate.
Trying to figure out how the English classic's can be incorporated with Edward Scissorhand's.
I see BIll cutting hair at lightning speed all the while quoting your favorite scenes from Pride and Prejudice.
This could be a new family business, the English classics spa and hair parlor.
Love,
Sooz
