I have had the privilege of being married for 37 years to a wonderful man who has taught me the joy of humor and laughter. It's contagious, it soothes the soul, it makes difficult times bearable, it is a gift I treasure. May we never lose the ability to laugh.

The Golden...errr...scrapmetal years!
The Golden Years! Hummmm. Every wonder why they call the older (mature) years, the golden years? If you are older, you are said to be in the winter of your life, but you are living the "golden" years. The best, the brightest, the top of the line. Not the silver years or the bronze years, but the golden years. Well, I think they have it backwards. I think maybe the 20's are your golden years- you are on the top of your game, everything works, nothing hurts, the 30's...the silver years, the 40's are the bronze years, and the 50's starts the scrapmetal era. Stay with me on this...scrapmetal has worked for years doing the job it was originally forged to do. It is starting to show some wear, metal fatigue as it were. It is maybe a little rusty, a little tangled. You have to handle it carefully because it is wirery and a little disheveled and it can scratch you if you aren't careful. Scrapmetal ain't pretty, it's not all shiny. Rust has a patina all its own. Actually, there is some artwork out there that is allowed to rust to complete the art. So, I will say that I am in the scrapmetal years. That's ok...I like being a little "scrappy." It suits me!

very clever and cute. I have to agree with you. If you are in the scrapmetel years, we are on scrapmetel heap. If enough heat is applied to scrapmetel it will return to its former beauty. That's when we are 6 feet under, I guess.
This sounds right. I really think old metal groans when it is used too much. Like an old ship. However you must remember what they all say. They don't make them like they use to. Like old tractors, with all their heavy forged metal. Makes you wonder.
Additionally at the end of all use, scrape metal gets recycled, remelted, reformed, into a brand new useful items. Sounds like the Lord when he give us a new body. Rust proof.

All I have to say is you are looking good for being a hunk of scrap metal!!!! Scrappy one, it is always a pleasure to spend time with you! c
I just learned today that they made the USS New York ship out of scrap metal from the twin towers, so ovbiously the scrap metal is of great value! c
