I have had the privilege of being married for 37 years to a wonderful man who has taught me the joy of humor and laughter. It's contagious, it soothes the soul, it makes difficult times bearable, it is a gift I treasure. May we never lose the ability to laugh.

Food for the Soul
Ok, so I am now reading a book my daughter loaned me by Max Lucado called Traveling Light. He uses the 23rd Psalm to help us realize that the Lord wants us to get rid of baggage and burdens that we invariably carry around with us. Chapter 7 covers part of verse 3 that says, "He restores my soul" or "The burden of hopelessness." One sentence he wrote made so much sense to me that I just had to share. Lucado says, "Jesus doesn't give hope by changing the jungle; he restores our hope by giving us himself." Wow! We all find ourselves feeling pretty hopeless as we deal with the jungle of life at times and isn't it usually the norm for us to say, Lord, make this jungle (this problem, situation, whatever) go away. But the Lord doesn't give us hope by changing the jungle, he restores our hope by giving us himself. He, Himself, takes our hand and guides us through the jungle. He restores our soul. Thank you, Lord!
