A day in Shangri La

So today was a mighty fine day.  I was wisked away to the place that holds many really fine memories of days with the kidos strolling the apple filled orchards and breakfasts with country ham, eggs, apple fritters, and apple julip.  Yup, it's Pidgeon Forge and the Apple Barn, only now they call it Applewood.  Same fine place, different name.  Bill and I dined on fried chicken and turkey with stuffing, green apple cole slaw and roasted buttered corn with homemade mashed potatoes. So tasty! Then we strolled through the shops, examined the candy and fudge, and walked through the apple winery.  We even battled the crowds in Gatlinburg to purchase some really fine fudge in the fudgery shop.  Ummm, quite good.  All in all, this was a very nice day.  The best part though was just spending time with my wonderful husband.  I am a blessed woman.  Yes, today was a truely fine day!
