How did THAT happen?

That's what I want to know. How did it happen that I am 56 years old? Where did the time go? Just the other day I was down at the spring collecting water and working hard not to spill any of it carrying it back up to the cabin. And building my own little fire under Grandmother's watchful eye. And sipping Pennyroyal tea with Grandfather. Just yesterday I was having water fights with Bill and three little kidos as we ran all over the yard. And listening to the squealing and laughing echoing down the hallway and coming from the latest, newest fort built in the living room. And three lunches to pack for school and hair to french braid and book bags to collect and socks to be found. Looking back, it's amazing how fast the time went. I am so thankful for every one of those years...I wouldn't trade them for anything. I am also thankful for these years right here and right now. The fact that i am celebrating another birthday makes me so thankful to the Lord for His mercy in allowing me to experience this year. And what a wonderful year it has been! I am a grandma again! Little Timotheus joined his brother and sister on September 17th. What a little bundle of joy! Momma and baby are both doing great! I got to visit and love on little Daniel and Tabitha- such joy! I cherish those two little people and absolutely love their expressions and getting to see life through their eyes. Such fun watching Daniel picking oranges from the tree and watching Tabitha charm us all with her precious smiles. I love their little hugs and giggles. What a precious time! It was equally wonderful being able to talk with their mommy while she was sitting in the same room with us! What joy! I gained a son-in-law this year! Keith joined our family on March 23rd and it was wonderful fun celebrating the event with family and friends! While I miss being able to spend as much time with Cindy, it has been a joy having him in our family and in her life! I get to celebrate this birthday with Billy...what a joy it has been being able to visit and re-connect with him for a time. I never take those things lightly! I have been able to spend another year with the love of my life! Joy all around!! I've gotten to spend time with my mom and dad, visiting, playing cards, enjoying a meal together. Such a joyful year it has been! So, while I wonder where the years have gone and how it is that I have gotten this old :)...I am ever so glad that I am here, right now, enjoying the richness and joy of life!! Thank you, Lord, for your mercy and goodness always!
