Well, here is the next book I need to recommend. Regina Brett wrote this one titled God Never Blinks: 50 Lessons for Life's Little Detours. It is filled with good stuff. She hooked me on the very first chapter titled "Life isn't fair, but it's still good." I have to admit that I am suspicious of authors who write positive, keep-looking-up type books. I want to know what makes them an expert. If the author has never dealt with LIFE, then what right have they got to write a life's lesson book? But her first chapter showed me what she is about. She has been to cancer and back. She has had her hardships. As far as I'm concerned, her ethos is firmly intact. I appreciate her candor and her thoughts. She speaks as one that has been there and understands. She has a way with her thoughts so much so that I had to occasionally stop to catch my breath. I especially like lesson 21. The title says it all... "Burn the Candles, Use the Nice Sheets, Wear the Fancy Lingerie. Don't Save Anything for a Special Occasion. Today is Special Enough." This year I will be 53 and I join her in saying, "We aren't stuck growing old. We GET to grow old." Every day that I wake up, I get a reprieve. Every day is a special event. "Today is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it." Thank you, Lord! I have had the privilege of being married for 37 years to a wonderful man who has taught me the joy of humor and laughter. It's contagious, it soothes the soul, it makes difficult times bearable, it is a gift I treasure. May we never lose the ability to laugh.

Bravo!! I've loved reading this book as well. It has great insight, and a beautiful reminder that being positive and making the most of a situation really is all it's cracked up to be :)
AND I love the new background!! Love you Mom!
This sounds really good! Today is certainly good enough, and I'll bet each chapter is great!
That was me, C
